PATIENT CARE TECH II - Radiation and Oncology

Performs a variety of direct patient care procedures to assist the unit manager, professional staff and physicians in providing patient care focused on the needs of the patient

Performs a variety of direct patient care procedures to assist the clinic manager, professional staff and physicians in providing patient care focused on the needs of the patient. Responsible for service excellence in both direct and indirect care of patients.
EQUIPMENT: Assist physician and professional staff in equipment supply
and set up. Maintain clinic supplies by stocking, ordering and
communicating when supplies are needed. Maintain clinic cleanliness by
putting away equipment, wiping down exam beds when necessary, and
maintaining patient confidentiality with putting away any patient
information left out in clinic.
Minimum Education:
Required: High School Diploma
Minimum Experience:
Required: Less than one year of previous job-related experience
Preferred: 1-2 years of previous job-related experience
Licensure/Certifications:
Required:
Certified Nurse Assistant
CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)
Other: Completion of a Nursing Assistant Program with placement on the Illinois Department of
Health Nurse Aide Registry or verification of an equal or higher educational level in a clinically
focused program. Individuals working as Patient Care Technicians at Loyola University Medical
Center prior to 1997 are exempt from the above guidelines and are grandfathered into the Patient
Care Technicians roles upon successful completion of an in-house orientation and training
program for the Patient Care Technician position.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
