Director of Development, School of Nursing

Is this split and/or fully grant funded?NoDuties and Responsibilities The Director of Development is primarily responsible for identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of prospects with a rated capacity of $100K-$1M, and personally manages a portfolio of about 125 prospects. This individual will oversee a set of major gifts goals and metrics in the successful attainment of the goals for the MNSON based on Loyola University Chicago (LUC) priorities and campaign initiatives. The position will work closely with faculty, as well as other Advancement leadership. Duties and Responsibilities: o Ability to understand the objectives of the MNSON and the Advancement Division, and to integrate University goals and priorities within those objectives; o Ability to initiate, analyze, monitor, evaluate and alter strategic plans for prospect management; o Must be able to articulate the strong case for support for the vision/mission/goals of LUC and the MNSON; o Strong interest in Higher Education, and a dedication to promoting the University's fundraising priorities through developing excellent working relationships with University constituencies; o Manage the total range of fund-raising activity, i.e., identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of MNSON prospects and donors; these responsibilities include directly soliciting and managing the solicitation of principal and major gift prospects. o Make a defined number of visits and solicitations per year designed to move prospects toward making a philanthropic commitment to both the MNSON and the University. Portfolio will consist of Chicago metro area prospects and may require travel outside of Chicago. Weekend or evening work will be required. o Possess excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills; responsible for writing correspondence and proposals to prospective donors, preparing contact reports on meetings and interactions with alumni. Write and edit proposals and reports for major/capital campaign gift donors. o Coordinate appointments and prepare any required materials for meetings, or visits or phone calls with dean, president, alumni volunteers, or other senior administrators made with alumni and friends within prospect pool. This includes but is not limited to; making calls, providing prospect information, giving history and strategy briefings, and preparing follow-up correspondence, proposals and contact reports. o Cross-collaborate with all Advancement departmental personnel to facilitate the qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of prospects. o Perform other duties as required or assigned. Minimum Education and/or Work Experience A bachelor's degree is required; a master's degree is preferred. 5-7 years of significant leadership experience, preferably in higher education development, alumni relations, annual giving and corporate & foundation relations, with a record of increasing levels of responsibility, with proven fundraising, alumni engagement and participation success. Qualifications o 5-7 years of significant leadership experience, preferably in Higher Education Development, Alumni Relations, Annual Giving and Corporate & Foundation Relations, with a record of increasing levels of responsibility, with proven fundraising, alumni engagement and participation success. o Direct experience in a multifaceted institution - with several academic units, athletics, and academic medicine will be extremely advantageous. o A proven commitment to diversity, the will to embrace diversity in all aspects and demonstrated success in recruiting, retaining, and building a diverse Development team. o A personal history of fundraising success at the major and principal gift levels. o Experience in designing and leading broad-based engagement strategies, especially in Alumni Relations. o A bachelor's degree is required; a master's degree is preferred. o Possess excellent knowledge of the principles of fundraising; demonstrate comprehensive understanding of major gifts; annual giving; corporate/foundation relations; prospect management; alumni affairs; significant budget, personnel and staff management experience; and exceptional interpersonal communications and team-building skills. o Strong demonstrated ability to formulate strategic plans, implement programs, and evaluate the success of these initiatives. o Personal belief in mission, goals and objectives of private Higher Education and Loyola University Chicago. Certificates/Credentials/Licenses N/A Computer Skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. - Working knowledge of personal computers. - Working knowledge of donor and fundraising databases. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
